Richard has worked in senior Sponsorship, Marketing and Communications roles since the early 90s. During recent years Richard ran the sponsorship for Team CSC, the World’s number one pro cycling team for 4 consecutive years running - right up until the change over to Team Saxo Bank at the start of 2009 and including the winning of the Tour de France in 2008 with Carlos Sastre.

Recently he was part of the End to End relay project that set the fastest ever time recorded for a relay cycling attempt of 34hrs 54 mins 44 seconds. He has also recently been involved in the setting up of the Virgin Racing F1 team.

"We exist to go for records. This reason holds within it, a duty to every single sponsor, equipment provider, behind-the-scenes donor, and fans/followers/friends who support us. We going to ride to beat records to prove a point. That point is to be ambassadors for all of those I have just mentioned as well as ourselves. We are here to represent, and represent well. We are here to give good 'brand'. In an era and in a climate in which teams falter or splinter, cease to exist, or just can't raise funds, we are quite well off. We are lucky with the support we have been offered. Note - we're not team Sky flush, but we have parts. We have a fair war chest of funds. And most important of all we have each other."

"That we have each other is a gift. The gift gives back in shovel loads, especially to David, Richard and me. But our team is not just a team. This is a troupe, a circus, a closed society, and a family. We should bleed for each other and for these records. We should know how lucky we are that our paths have crossed, so that the next two seasons can be filled with opportunities that afford us memories we'll cherish for the rest of our lives. Let's each of us do what we can - or have to - to ensure that each other achieve brilliance and superb fine and fun times, on start lines and finish posts, at the meals, while travelling long miles to places, and everywhere when we spend time with each other."

"Let's also use our support system and each other to help everyone reading this have the most successful seasons of record breaking. We also have personal goals, and we each have an obligation to help the others reach those goals. We are each others motivators, as coaches, and shoulders if needed. It's a gift to be in each others lives, record breaking, and having the support and camaraderie that we have. Let's be extraordinary...... because we are!"

Colin Batchelor

Colin Batchelor

Team Role: Coach
Likes: Making people suffer!
Profile: A British Cycling trained Level 3 coach, I've been involved in cycle racing since 1980, when a visit to Italy changed my life. Having raced occasionally in France I quickly discovered that a lack of talent (or in my case, a serious lack of talent) could be offset, to some extent, by hard work and a serious training regime. It was this experience that encouraged me to start coaching other riders. I currently work with riders from Juniors to Vets, from local races to International competition, across most cycling disciplines and believe that with correct and focused preparation we can all achieve great things (both on and off the bike).

I'll coach anyone who has a sense of humour, a determination to succeed, a willingness to work hard or a completely crazy project - Team Wiggle Tandem tick all four boxes. I hold what is, as far as I know, a unique record in British bike racing, I've only entered 2 time trials, I won the first one and was disqualified from the 2nd, a record I have no intention of changing.

Jeff Winstanley

Jeff Winstanley

Team Role: Senior Mechanic and Driver
Likes: Track riding and coaching, Motorcycles (esp. Ducati ), Alabama3
Profile: Always been involved in some kind of sport. Football and Rugby League ( being a Wiganer ) at school, then later stock car racing, moto X and karting. Won a Formula Ford scholarship at Brands Hatch Racing in 1982, unfortunately, a lack of sponsorship curtailed a career in motor racing. Was player, player/coach then manager of successful local American football team in late 80's early 90's, after which turned to golf... much more civilised! Got into serious cycling about six years ago, rode End-to-End with Sue in 2006 to raise funds for local hospice. Now a Go-ride and velodrome coach at Manchester, and a track Commisaire. Rides occasional sportives or audaxes, but main interest is track riding and coaching. HGV driver by profession, just likes anything that has wheels and an engine, especially motor cycles, in particular red Italian ones!

Suzanne Duncan-Gilbert

Suzanne Duncan-Gilbert

Team Role: Assistant Mechanic, (Grease monkey's mate). But I know more about fixing bikes than the "chief" mechanic ;-)
Likes: Track riding and coaching, shouting at riders to pedal faster! Thinking about my next meal!
Profile: After a few years away from the sport due to studies, then working in Germany, returned to cycling about six years ago via kick boxing, realising she wasn't as fit as she used to be! Now rides sportive and challenge rides. She is also a Velodrome accredited coach at Manchester, where she can be found most evenings either riding or encouraging ( shouting at!! ) beginners to pedal faster on the banking. She is commited to continued professional development in coaching, and hopes she can pass on some of her experience to other riders.
Best Achievement: Until this year it had been a sub hour 25 mile time trial ( just! ), or riding the National Track Champs ( badly! ), both in the 1980's. More recently, getting around the Fred Whitton Challenge two years running, and trying to resist the pressure to make a racing comeback...

Likes: Riding my bikes and thinking of holidays
Profile: Never been the last one picked for any sport thanks to good choice of parents. Top swimmer when young and did all the getting up at stupid hours to go train. Went on to do basketball and running with backpacking as a hobby. Came to the bike quite late as anything other than transport and has gone faster and faster as average speeds inAudax events have increased by 1 mph per year over the last decade ( who are we kidding they are a race now ). Works as a personal trainer.
